Emmorie competed in the AHSI High Point Fun Show & Arabian Community Show on Saturday riding Fames Intimidator. She was entered in 4 classes:

  1. Walk-Trot - 13 & under - Any breed
  2. Novice Rider Walk-Trot - (Optional Equipment) - Any breed
  3. Walk-Trot - 17 & under (Optional Equipment)
  4. Equitation - 17 & under (Optional Equipment)

She placed FIRST in 1-3 above and placed SECOND in the Equitation class. Way to go Emmorie!!! She has come a very long way since last year and she still loves it. She gets very nervous showing in front of all them people, but she likes riding the horse even more.

Here she is practicing before the event. This is right after we got the equipment on the horse and while the trainer was helping prep another horse. Susan Skow is Emmorie's trainer. Click here to see Sue's web page.

Here's Emmorie all "dolled up" before the show. You may notice the training leads are still on the horse. This is a device that "learns" the horse to keep it's head down all the time. It isn't allowed in the ring, but since Emmorie is still green and the horse is ridden by numerous different people, it wears it during training. They spent over an hour riding in the ring before this picture getting Emmorie and Fame used to the ring so they wouldn't be nervous during the show.

This is a close-up of Emmorie in the ring during her first class (see above). She lost her hat part way through which really embarrassed her. She pulled through really well and went on to win first place. Just look at her concentration. She takes this very serious and really enjoys riding Fame.

Here she is proudly showing off her 3 first place ribbons in the training ring. Notice the training equipment is off. This is exactly how she (and Fame) looked in the ring...minus the ribbons of course. Grandma held on to those!!!

And here is a picture with Sue. Sue was very proud of Emmorie and Fame. This combination of horse and rider can go very far in the ring if they keep at it. They have an extremely promising future together. Sue is an excellent teacher and is great with both the kids and the horses.
