Ford Galaxie 500 7 Litre in miniature
The 7 Litre in miniature
Scale models of the 7 Litre were available as promotional cars and as scale models. Yatming also made a 1/64 scale 7 Litre hardtop with doors that opened (lower left of photo).

Promotional cars were available from Ford dealers. So far, I have found 5 different colors. The colors being burgundy, light blue, white, turquoise, and golden brown. Under each car is a list of features for the 1966 models. Even though the 7 Litre was the body style, the burgundy, gold, and white cars say LTD behind the left front wheel, while the turquoise car says 7 Litre. The light blue car describes Galaxie features in general and is the only one equipped with a friction motor. Searching flea markets, antique stores, hobby shows, and Hemmings, I have discovered the turquoise seems to be the most easily found with the light blue hardtop also showing up from time to time. The only time I have seen the gold, white, and burgundy cars are in the models I own.
The 7 Litre in kit form

There was a 1966 7 Litre in kit form offered in 1966 by AMT. It was later re-issued by AMT Ertl in the mid-1980s. The box and red bodied car in the picture is an example of the re-issue.
I never knew of a convertible version of either the promotional or kit until about 5 years ago when at a swap meet, there a man was selling old kit cars that had been built. I bought this convertible from him and it is the only convertible I have ever seen. It is an authentic kit and convertible, not a modified hardtop. I don't know any history of it all.
If anyone can give me any more history on either the promotional or the kit versions of the 7 Litre, please let me know.
