The STORY of HOME MADE -- HAND MADE ROPE

The  New Era Rope Machine, in my opinion, is  the best of the commercially made 1900s
rope machines.  It sold well and widely from 1911 to 1919.   A. D.  Long of Fairfield, Iowa  sold
licence to it to several  manufactures.   Volume of Sales declined enough that by 1919,
A.D. Long once again had to seek full time employment as a tool and pattern maker
with a  manufacturer  with whom he worked until his death  in 1954 in Fairfield, Iowa.
Long also held other patents including the Royal Rope Machine.
This rope maker is  8.5 inches tall,  7 inches wide and counting the handle,
it is about 7 inches deep.
