Lake Mills Public Library - About Us

We welcome you to the Lake Mills Public Library. The City of Lake Mills and Winnebago County fund our library. We offer books, magazines, newspapers, videos, DVDs, audio books, large print books, game CDs and music cassettes. We also lend out an electric typewriter, overhead projector, screen, and 16mm projector. We also provide FAX and copier service.

We offer JetNet Internet service on five public access computers where you will also find our card catalog and word processors. We also have two game computers in our children's department.

Residents of Lake Mills and the surrounding rural area may register for a Lake Mills Public Library Card.

You may use your Lake Mills Public Library Card at any library in Iowa. When using another library, you must abide by its rules.

Lend out periods are as follows:

Books, audio tapes, books & tapes, CDs - 2 weeks

Magazines - newest issues - Overnight

Magazines - past issues - 2 weeks

Videos & DVDs - 3 days

You may renew most items one time, providing there is not a reserve list for them. Library materials may be renewed in person or by phone (592-0092) as long as there are no fines due on them.

Overdue Fines:

Books & magazines $.25 per day

Videos & DVDs $.50 per day

Interlibrary Loan:
If the library does not own the item you need, you may request that we borrow it from another library. The fee for this service is as follows:

$.50 per item (1-5 items per year)

$1.00 per item (6-10 items per year)

$2.00 per item (11-15 items per year)

$3.00 per item (16+ items per year)
