Without a church home, the minority from North Prairie resolved on September 13, 1918, to proceed at once with the building of a church. The following building committee was elected: K. J. Holstad, Eric Mattison, Andrew Nerness, Ole Thorson and Pastor Hansen.

The first officers of the congregation were, secretary, A. O. Hylland; treasurer, Hans Fugleberg; trustees, K. J. Holstad, Tom Langfald, Lyon Storby.

December 10, 1918: The official name of the congregation; namely, “The Center Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church,” was chosen. At this same meeting a committee of three was elected to prepare a constitution: Edvard Grytte, A. O. Hylland and Eric Mattison.
