Pastor and Mrs. Justin A. Petersen+Scarville Lutheran School was formed in 1927 under the leadership of Pastor Justin A. Petersen. A wonderful account written by Pastor Petersen about the beginning of the school can be found on the Jubilee Souvenir page. After only fifteen years, the school was closed for lack of students in 1942. However, at a congregational meeting on June 10, 1957, the following account was recorded:

Pastor Aaberg led in the discussion of starting a Christian Day School in Scarville. Motion was passed unanimously to start a school at least in 1958. Motion was passed to elect School Board consisting of these members. Members elected were: Nels D. Faugstad, Harry Olson, Milford Brudvig. - Conrad Faugstad, Sec.

Indeed in 1958, the school reopened under the leadership of the Rev. Theodore A. Aaberg and has since continued in service to the church and community. In 1998, Scarville Lutheran School was moved to a new location - a new school building. This project was completed through the volunteer efforts of dedicated congregation members who pray that Scarville Lutheran School will continue to serve children for decades to come.
