Luther College Bergland Scholarship:
Established by Glenn Bergland to express appreciation to all past and present members of WCTA (RTA) and Heartland Power (REA), whose entities were organized and managed by Glenn for 25 years and 35 years, respectively. The donors’ preference is to award these scholarships to students who are being served by these associations, with further preference given to students majoring in the sciences or pre-professional sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, pre-med, pre-vet, pre-engineering, and nursing).
Iowa Communications Alliance:
The Iowa Communications Alliance is offering a scholarship opportunity for students. Winnebago Cooperative Telecom Association (WCTA) is a member of this organization made up of independent telecommunications companies in Iowa.
The Aureon Scholarship Program is available to students pursuing a STEM related course of study and those residing in the Des Moines metro area or a home with service from an Iowa Independent Telecommunications Company (ITC) like WCTA.
Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Scholarship Program:
The FRS scholarship is available to the students of parents or guardians who are Cooperative Members. It should be noted that preference will be given to individuals expressing an interest to return to a rural community to work following graduation.
